We love Costco! In the past 25+ years of shopping there, they always manage to stay ahead of mainstream grocery stores when it comes to having a variety of healthy products at great prices. As I was filling up my cart the other day, it dawned on me that others with a Costco or other large wholesale club nearby might like to take a peak into my cart to see what healthy goodies I found. I've also listed other favorites I didn't get this time but are staples for me.
Fruits and Veggies: I love the fresh ORGANIC strawberries, blueberries, apples, bananas, spinach, baby kale, baby bella mushrooms, avocadoes (not organic), celery, and carrots (10 lb bag is such a bargain!). In the frozen section, I stock up on ORGANIC cherries, blueberries, broccoli, butternut squash chunks and cauliflower rice (great substitute for a grain-based dish!).
Dairy, Meats, Seafood and other Frozen: I am an avid fan of Kerrygold grassfed butter. It is far cheaper buying it in bulk than at the grocery store. I also love the goat cheese, feta and presliced fresh mozzarella. These are the only dairy products that agree with me digestively and that I can eat in moderation because they don't trigger major cravings like other cheeses do for me! I also love their wild smoked sockeye salmon, organic chicken breasts, tenderloins and whole chickens, frozen wild salmon (it's marinated but the ingredients are pretty clean), and frozen wild mahi. The great thing about the chicken and frozen wild seafood is that they are individually wrapped so it's great when you just want one or two servings. We go through a lot of eggs in my house. The organic 18 pk of eggs is a great deal. I still buy pastured eggs when I can, but organic is the next best thing. The Hannah organic hummus is another family favorite and the Kirkland brand Basil Pesto, though not organic, is amazing in a pinch. The Milton's Cauliflower Crust is an occasional treat in our house. I try to stay away from anything too processed, but when you're crazing pizza, it's a great gluten free alternative!
Pantry Staples: Let's talk nuts! Kirkland has amazing prices on bulk nuts, some organic, some not. My favorites are the Basse organic pumpkin seeds, and the Kirkland organic raw cashews, mixed nuts, pecans, walnuts, pine nuts and almonds. It's a great place to stock up on smoothie ingredients as well, such as organic chia seeds, hemp seeds, and cacao powder. I don't eat peanut butter, but my husband loves the Kirkland brand of organic peanut butter that comes in a 2-pack. Other must haves are the cases of RXBars (only $17 for 12!), Mateo's salsa, Orgain organic plant based protein powder, organic unsweetened almond milk, Kirkland olive oil and balsamic vinegar, organic cold pressed coconut oil, and wild caught sardines (one of the healthiest types of seafood and great mixed in a salad!). A few other things not pictured are Newman's organic k-cups, organic quinoa, Kirkland organic seaweed snacks and Kirkland apple cider vinegar (with the mother!).
Miscellaneous: ThermoFlask insulated metal water bottles (never get hot in the heat! love these!!), Dr. Teal's Epsom Salts, and Schmidt's all natural bergamot-lime deodorant. Our all-time favorite Costco purchase is our Dynamic Bellagio 3 person Far Infrared Sauna. We use it a lot and it's a great way to detox.
We have no ties with Costco in any way; we just love their products! Hope you found this helpful! :)
