To me, alignment means to be in a state of flow and expansion, and emotionally it feels awesome! It’s when our physical, mental and spiritual selves all work in harmony together. We need this inner alignment before we are able to achieve what our hearts truly desire in Life.

We all desire fulfillment in life. To connect with what lights us up and be the best versions of ourselves. Think about your personal goals. Do you desire a career change where you are best utilizing your unique gifts and are fully appreciated? Do you want to lose some weight so you can run around with your kids and not constantly feel exhausted? Do you want to revamp your diet to get rid of inflammation and joint pain, and no longer be dealing with food cravings and binge eating? Do you want to have a beautiful, committed relationship with the person of your dreams to share your life with? Do you desire a spiritual connection to find greater purpose and meaning in life? We all have dreams and goals. Aligning these goals (and more importantly, your WHY that drives your goals) with action steps is what leads to fulfillment and success.

Here are a few steps to Alignment:

1. Develop self awareness. When you’re out of alignment, you’ll feel stuck, fearful, uncertain and disconnected. Are there certain triggers that lead to this feeling? Practice breathwork (ie. inhale through nose for 4, hold for 4, exhale for 4, hold for 4. Repeat) to clear this pattern and get unstuck. If you know your triggers, change your patterns. What makes you feel better in the moment? Try singing, dancing or walking outside to shake up your energy and reboot. Practice this mindfulness daily to help you stay connected with YOU. You’ll be creating a constant flow of motivation, confidence, freedom and clarity that will enable you to tap into your intuition and discover your WHY’s.

2. Establish clear goals, and more importantly, the WHY’s behind the goals. What is your motivation for wanting to eat better? Is it simply to lose weight? That’s not a strong WHY. A true WHY will bring you to tears. Maybe it’s that you saw your parents suffer from diseases such as diabetes, heart disease and alzheimers, and you don’t want your kids to have to see you suffer like that as well. You want to be around and have vitality to play with your grandchildren.

3. Develop a strategy for achieving these goals. What action steps can you take to make these dreams a reality?

4. What daily plans and priorities will you have in place to execute this strategy?

By doing the inner work to connect with WHO you really are enables you to develop meaningful and purposeful goals and, more importantly, the WHY’s behind the goals. From there you can create a strategy and clear action steps to achieve anything you want in life.
